How Fuel Cost Is Calculated
The basic calculation is:
Fuel Required = Distance ÷ Fuel Efficiency
Then:
Total Fuel Cost = Fuel Required × Fuel Price
For example, if a vehicle travels 300 km and has an efficiency of 15 km/L, the estimated fuel requirement is:
300 ÷ 15 = 20 liters
If fuel costs $1.50 per liter:
20 × $1.50 = $30
